LIVING WATER EPISODE 661 || 27TH MARCH, 2026

MEASURED BY GOD, PROTECTED BY FIRE, FILLED WITH GLORY
Scripture Reading: Zechariah 2:3–5
While the angel who was speaking to me was leaving, another angel came to meet him and said to him: “Run, tell that young man, ‘Jerusalem will be a city without walls because of the great number of people and animals in it. And I myself will be a wall of fire around it,’ declares the Lord, ‘and I will be its glory within.’
At the time of this prophecy in Book of Zechariah, Jerusalem was in a weak and vulnerable condition.
Jerusalem had been destroyed during the Babylonian Exile. The walls were broken down, the temple had been ruined, and many people had been taken into exile. A small group had returned to rebuild, but the city was still: Partially rebuilt, poorly populated, Without strong walls (defenseless) and economically weak.
So, Jerusalem at that time was: Small, vulnerable, and seemingly insignificant
Here comes a man Trying to Measure Jerusalem; In simple terms: He was evaluating Jerusalem based on what he could see.
The Limitation of Human Measurement
The man with the measuring line represents human effort to define, calculate, and limit what God is doing. Measurement speaks of boundaries—how far, how wide, and how much. Many people live within what they can measure: their income, their education, their background, or their opportunities. But God’s plans are not confined to human calculations. What God is about to do in your life cannot be reduced to numbers or current realities. When God steps in, He removes limitations that human reasoning tries to establish, reminding us that divine purpose always exceeds human expectation.
Divine Interruption Brings Expansion
Before the measuring is completed, heaven interrupts with urgency, instructing that young man to stop limiting what God intends to expand. This divine interruption shows that God will not allow His plans to be reduced by small thinking. Sometimes God must interrupt our assumptions, our fears, and even our carefully laid plans to introduce something greater. His command to “run” reflects urgency because limitation can quickly become a mindset if left unchecked. God steps in to redefine the narrative, shifting us from restriction to expansion.
The Power of Overflow
God declares that Jerusalem will be a city without walls because of the abundance of people and livestock within it. In ancient times, walls represented security and structure, but here God removes them because the growth will be too great to contain. This signifies a level of increase that surpasses existing systems and boundaries. When God blesses, He does not merely add—He multiplies beyond capacity. There are seasons when God removes structures not to expose you, but because they can no longer contain the expansion He is bringing into your life.
God as the Wall of Fire
Even without physical walls, the city is not left vulnerable, because God Himself becomes a wall of fire around it. This divine protection is stronger than any man-made defense. Fire represents God’s presence, His power, and His ability to defend and purify. When God surrounds you, no external threat can prevail. This teaches that your security does not come from systems, structures, or human arrangements, but from God Himself. What God builds, He protects, and what He protects cannot be easily destroyed.
God as the Glory Within
Beyond external protection, God promises to be the glory within the city. This speaks of His presence dwelling among His people, not just around them. Glory is the visible manifestation of God’s power and character, transforming everything from the inside out. True greatness is not defined by what surrounds you, but by what resides within you. When God’s glory is inside, it produces wisdom, strength, and divine identity that cannot be shaken. The greatest blessing is not external success, but internal transformation through God’s presence.
No Walls, Yet Fully Protected
This passage presents a powerful balance; no walls, yet complete protection. It shows a life that is open to growth and expansion, yet secured by divine covering. You are not limited, yet you are not exposed. You are increasing, yet you are not vulnerable. This is the life God calls His people into: one where expansion and security coexist because God Himself is both the protector and the source of growth.
God is calling you into a dimension beyond limitation, where your life is no longer defined by what you can measure but by what He has declared. He is removing boundaries that restrict your growth while establishing His presence as your protection and His glory as your identity. You will expand beyond expectation, yet remain secure in Him. Therefore, release every limitation, trust in His covering, and step boldly into the fullness of what God is building in your life.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your plans for me which are greater than my understanding.
Break every limitation in my mind and life. Interrupt every small thinking and expand my capacity. Be my wall of fire: protect me from every visible and invisible danger.
Fill me with Your glory, that my life may reflect Your presence.
Lord, I surrender my measurements and embrace Your limitless plan. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
