THE SECRET TO A GOOD LIFE

Scripture: Psalm 34:10-13

“The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.

Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord.

Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days,

keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies.”

Everyone desires a good life filled with peace, joy, and purpose. Many people look for it in wealth, power, or personal achievement, but David teaches that true fulfillment comes from seeking God, fearing Him, and living according to His Word. In these verses, he reveals God's pathway to a blessed and meaningful life.

1. Those Who Seek the Lord Lack No Good Thing: David compares those who seek God with lions, which are known for their strength. Even lions can become weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord will not lack any good thing. Human strength and resources may fail, but God remains faithful to provide what His children need. When we make God our priority, we can trust Him to care for every area of our lives.

2. Learning the Fear of the Lord: David invites his listeners to learn the fear of the Lord. This fear is not terror but a deep respect and reverence for God that leads to obedience. A person who fears God desires to honor Him in every decision and action. As we grow in our relationship with God, we learn to walk in His wisdom and experience His blessings.

3. Guarding Our Words: David teaches that those who love life and desire good days must keep their tongues from evil and their lips from lies. Our words have great power to help or harm others. God calls us to speak truthfully, kindly, and wisely. A heart that honors God will be reflected in speech that encourages and blesses people.

This Passage reminds us that the good life is found in God. Those who seek Him, fear Him, and guard their speech will experience His provision, guidance, and favor. God's blessings are not based on human strength but on a life that trusts and obeys Him.

Call to Action: Today, make a fresh commitment to seek the Lord daily, walk in reverence before Him, and use your words to bring life and encouragement to others. Trust God to provide every good thing you need as you follow His ways.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for showing me the path to a blessed life. Help me to seek You above all else, to walk in the fear of the Lord, and to guard my words carefully. May my life honor You and reflect Your goodness each day. We trust you to provide for our needs and guide us in Your ways. In Jesus' name, Amen.
