LIVING WATER – EPISODE 607 || 1ST FEBRUARY, 2026
By Solomon Uwumbolibe Mensah
HE IS COMING SOON
Scripture Reading: Revelation 22:12–13
“Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”
As the Bible reaches its final words, Christ Himself steps forward to speak. These are not the words of a prophet, an angel, or an apostle. This is Jesus; glorified, eternal, and victorious; making one last announcement to humanity.
Yesterday, we heard heaven declare that the time is near and that choices are becoming fixed. Today, the voice of Christ confirms what that nearness means: He is coming. He is rewarding. He is revealing who He has always been.
This is not a threat. It is not poetry. It is a final certainty spoken by the One who stands outside time and yet enters history.
1. “Look, I Am Coming Soon”
The word “Look” is a command. It means pay attention, wake up, do not drift. Jesus does not say, “I might come.” He says, “I am coming.”
The certainty of Christ’s return is the backbone of Christian hope and accountability. His coming is not symbolic; it is personal. Not delayed; it is appointed. Not secret; it will be unmistakable.
“Soon” does not mean predictable by human calendars. It means sudden, decisive, and unstoppable. God’s “soon” interrupts history at the exact moment righteousness demands it.
The Church is not waiting for signs to believe; we are living ready because we believe.
2. “My Reward Is With Me”
Jesus does not come empty-handed. He comes as Judge, King, and Rewarder.
This reward is not salvation; salvation is by grace alone. This reward is the divine response to a lived life: faithfulness, obedience, perseverance, love, sacrifice, and stewardship.
Nothing done in Christ is forgotten.
No quiet obedience is overlooked.
No unseen faithfulness is wasted.
At the same time, this statement sobers us:
Life is not meaningless. Choices echo. Actions matter.
Heaven keeps record; not to condemn the redeemed, but to honor what was aligned with eternity.
3. “I Will Give to Each Person According to What They Have Done”
This is not contradiction to grace; it is the fruit of grace examined.
What we do reveals what we believe. How we live exposes who we serve.
This is not about perfection, but direction. Not about earning, but about evidence.
Every life tells a story. Christ reads that story fully, truthfully, and justly. No excuses. No comparisons. No favoritism.
The question is not “Did you know about Christ?” The question is “Did your life align with Him?”
4. “I Am the Alpha and the Omega”
Here, Jesus reveals His identity. Alpha and Omega; first and last letters of the Greek alphabet declare that nothing exists outside of Him.
He is not part of the story, He is the Author.
He does not react to history.; History unfolds within Him.
Every beginning started in Christ.; Every ending concludes in Christ.
When He speaks of reward and judgment, He does so with absolute authority; because He spans eternity itself.
5. “The First and the Last, the Beginning and the End”
This is reassurance for the faithful and warning for the careless.
If Christ is the Beginning, then your origin is secure in Him. If Christ is the End, then your destination is determined by Him.
This means:
He started what He will finish.
He sustains what He began.
He closes what He opens.
Nothing escapes His control. Nothing outruns His timing. Nothing overrides His word.
The One who calls you to faithfulness is the same One who guarantees its outcome.
Living Between Promise and Fulfillment
Revelation 22:12–13 places us in a sacred space: Between Christ’s promise to return and the certainty of His reward.
We are not waiting passively. We are living purposefully. Every day becomes preparation.
Every choice becomes worship. Every obedience becomes eternal investment.
The final voice of Scripture does not ask us to speculate; it calls us to live ready.
He is coming soon. His reward is with Him. He is the Alpha and the Omega.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, Thank You for the promise of Christ’s return and the assurance that nothing lived for You is wasted. Help me to live with eternal awareness, faithful obedience, and unwavering hope. Let my life reflect the One who is the Beginning and the End. Keep my heart ready, my hands faithful, and my steps aligned with Your will.
As I wait for Your coming, may I live in a way that honors You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
