LIVING WATER – EPISODE 604 || 29TH JANUARY, 2026
By Solomon Uwumbolibe Mensah
Scripture Reading: Revelation 22:6–7
“The angel said to me, ‘These words are trustworthy and true. The Lord, the God who inspires the prophets, sent his angel to show his servants the things that must soon take place.’
‘Look, I am coming soon! Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy written in this scroll.’”
Yesterday, we gazed upon the radiant face of God and the endless reign of the saints. Today, the vision turns our attention to the certainty of God’s Word and the urgency of our response. Revelation does not close with speculation or mystery, but with assurance and instruction. Heaven places a seal upon the message and a blessing upon obedience. What we are given here is not merely information about the future, but a summons for the present.
1. The Certainty of Divine Testimony: “These words are trustworthy and true.” As Revelation draws to a close, God removes all doubt about what has been shown. These visions are not poetic exaggerations or symbolic wishes; they are divine certainties. The phrase “trustworthy and true” reminds us that God’s Word carries the full weight of His character. What He promises cannot fail, because He Himself cannot lie. In a world where truth is often bent and promises are easily broken, Scripture stands as the unshakable anchor of reality. The end of history is not uncertain—it is authored.
2. The God Who Speaks Through Prophets: "The Lord, the God who inspires the prophets…” This revelation comes from the same God who spoke through Moses, Isaiah, Daniel, and all the prophets of old. The God of prophecy is the God of consistency. He does not contradict Himself across generations; He unfolds His plan across time. By sending His angel, God shows that these things are not hidden secrets for elites, but revealed truths for His servants. Prophecy is not meant to satisfy curiosity—it is meant to cultivate faithfulness.
3. The Urgency of the Coming King: “Look, I am coming soon!” These are the words of Jesus Himself. The final message of Scripture is not primarily a warning of judgment, but a declaration of arrival. “Soon” speaks not only of timing, but of suddenness and certainty. Christ’s return hangs over history like a dawn already breaking beyond the horizon. The church does not wait in fear, but in expectation. The King who redeemed us is the King who will return for us.
4. The Blessing of Obedient Watchfulness: “Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy written in this scroll.” The blessing is not pronounced on those who merely read Revelation, debate it, or admire it—but on those who keep it. To keep the Word is to guard it in the heart and express it in life. Obedience is the posture of readiness. Those who live by this prophecy walk in holiness, perseverance, and hope. The final blessing of the Bible rests upon a life aligned with God’s revealed truth.
Living as One Who Is Ready: Revelation 22:6–7 calls us to live between certainty and expectancy. If these words are trustworthy, then our faith should be steady. If Christ is coming soon, then our lives should be ordered. We are not spectators of prophecy; we are stewards of it. Every act of obedience becomes a declaration that we believe the King is at the door.
The world may scoff at the promise of His coming, but the servants of God live differently. We do not drift—we watch. We do not despair—we prepare. Our hope is not vague optimism, but anchored assurance. The same Word that foretold the cross has promised the crown.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You that Your words are trustworthy and true. Anchor my faith in what You have spoken, not in what the world assumes. Teach me to live as a servant who is ready, keeping Your Word with reverence and obedience. Let the promise of Christ’s coming purify my heart and strengthen my walk. May my life reflect my belief that the King is near.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
